Joseph B. Nelson, CPA, CFE, CFF, CVA, is a Partner in the Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Group at Marks Paneth & Shron LLP, a leading New York accounting firm. He provides comprehensive litigation consulting services encompassing the areas of complex fraud investigations, forensic accounting examinations, assistance with complex damage analyses, resolution to intellectual property and commercial disputes, and the application of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principals) and GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards). He has worked with local, national and international law firms and has represented a diverse client base of large, mid-size and small corporations, as well as individuals in the real estate, healthcare, restaurant, insurance, banking, intellectual property, manufacturing, energy and service sectors. Joe has served as an expert consultant, testifying expert witness, court-appointed auditor and court-appointed receiver. He has also served as an expert consultant to the United States Department of Justice and the FBI.
