Introducing Christine M. Anderson

Christine M. Anderson, CPA, is a Partner with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP and has been with the firm since 2007. Christine has 20 years of working in finance, insurance operations, project management, and change management. She is experienced in leading, developing and implementing strategic initiatives.

Christine's specific experience: Insurance Audit Partner responsible for several statutory and GAAP audits for insurance entities. Has 14 years of previous audit and advisory services experience as a former member of the financial institutions group of a national accounting firm. Five years of experience as a senior finance leader in $3 billion multi-line insurance company. Operational experience leading insurance financial operations including internal audit, controller, tax, planning and financial reporting. Assists clients in the implementation and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and Model Audit Rule. OFAC and AML control design and effectiveness. Experience in accounting for acquisitions and performing due diligence procedures. Performs reinsurance and risk transfer evaluations. Possesses experience in statutory to GAAP conversions and mutual company demutualization's. Experience in preparing and delivering rating agency presentations.

Christine is a professional speaker; she is an instructor for “International Accounting for Insurance Companies” and “US GAAP for Insurance Companies”. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Madison Graduate Program for “How Insurance Companies make Money”. Christine has also delivered presentations to the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (“Model Audit Rule”), where she is Vice President, and has published articles on international accounting (How Fast is the Train Really Coming – Interpreter June 2008) and fair value (Who Decides What Is Fair – Interpreter April 2009).
